Catch the fever in downtown Cadillac’s First (and annual) Fall Fever Festival - this year celebrating our NEW main street 70’s style - Dancin’ in the New Streets.
Events:

• 10:00 am – 4:00 pm– ‘Then & Now’ Car Show, five local car dealers - Don’s Auto Clinic, Godfrey’s, Four Seasons Ford, Swaffer’s Toyota and HighPoint Auto - will show off classic old cars and new 2010 vehicles. Location: parking lot East of Fountain in City Park.

• 10:00 am – 4:00 pm – Community Tie-Dye, sponsored by Express Yourself Promotions. Learn how to tie-dye a cool bandana, $4.00 per bandana, all proceeds will be donated to the United Way 211. Location: by Shay Locomotive

• 10:00 am – 4:00 pm – ‘Catch the Fever’ In-store Drawings, thousands of dollars in prizes to be given away throughout downtown, increase your chances to win by visiting all of the downtown stores with a ‘Catch the Fever’ sign in their front window. Drawings will be held throughout the day – winners will be individually contacted and announced on Oldies 107.9. Location: downtown stores

• 10:00 am – 3:00 pm – United Way Crazy Cone Contest, come check out how CAPS high school students have decorated six (6) old construction cones, cast your vote with a coin, the Cone with the most coins at 3pm wins the contest. Location: downtown sidewalks

• 10:00 am -11am- Hula Hoop, Limbo & Skip ball Contests, sponsored by Toy Town. Age categories 5–8, 8-12, 13+, Prizes, pre-registration at Toy Town is recommended, limited space. Hula Hoops and Skip balls will be available to play with until 3pm. Location: by Shay Locomotive

• 10:30 am – Mix 96 ‘Do the Doo’ Big Hair Contest, bring your biggest hair and win a $25 gift certificate. Open to the Cadillac community – come show off your DOO. Location: Tent

• 11:00 am – Stepp’in Woof Pee Wee Dog Races, sponsored by Northwoods Feed & Supply, Danc’in with Woofs and Express Yourself Promotions. Relay Races for pee wees and owners and we will play musical sits. Open to healthy dogs 20 lbs and under, all dogs get a free toy – preregistration is required, call Julie Dyer at 775-8380 by September 21st. Free event. Location: East of the Fountain

• 11:00 am –Two Person Marshmallow Shoot-out, by Toy Town. Grab a partner and see how many marshmallows you can shoot into their mouth in one minute, age categories 8-12, 13–17, 18+ prizes, pre-registration at Toy Town is recommended, limited space. Location: Shay Locomotive

• 12:00 – Community Hustle Demonstration and Lessons by the Landing Dance. Location: Tent

• 1:00 pm – Oldies 107.9 Dance Off Contest, these dancers have won dance contests at local dance clubs (Stadium Club, Sand Bar and the Roaring 20’s) and will be competing for the Dance Fever 2009 Title, they will show off their dance moves at the final Dance Off starting at 12:30pm. Live remote from 12noon to 2pm. Location: Tent

• 11:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Inflatable Bounce Activities sponsored by the Downtown Cadillac Association and CJ’s Excavating. For kids of all ages there will be the huge caterpillar, bounce house, and air baseball. Location: Shay Locomotive

• 11:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Pony Rides by Kicks for Kids. Location: parking lot East of Fountain in City Park.

• 2:00 pm – Firstbank Mascot Contest and Sidewalk Parade, calling all local businesses with Mascots, here is your opportunity to show-off your ‘stuff’, mascots will compete in presentation, dance and crowd pleasing abilities. After the crowning, they will strut their stuff through the streets of downtown to help us kick-off the Community Hustle. To sign-up call Firstbank Cadillac at 231-775-9000. Location: East of the Fountain.

• 3:00 pm – Community Hustle presented by the Landing Dance and Cadillac News, come show off your fancy hustle moves and join us in a community Hustle to celebrate our new Mainstreet! Location: starting at the Tent, following the sidewalk up to mainstreet…

• All Day – Downtown Restaurants will be serving 70’s style flavor specials you won’t want to miss. The Shay Station will also host Oktober Fest after 4pm, see www.shaystation.com for details.
