Fall Color Update – October 17, 2025
Fall color may be a little PAST PEAK along the interior routes in the Western U.P., however, you should be able to find plenty of peak color in the Western U.P. closer to the shores of Lake Superior. Copper Peak Ski Jump and Adventure Ride near Ironwood is open through Sunday October 19, 2025. Enjoy a chairlift ride and elevator ride and then a walk up the stairs to the top of the Copper Peak Ski Jump for a stunning vista of the brilliant color in the old-growth forest of the Western U.P.

This weekend look for peak color in the interior portions of the Western Upper Peninsula. Some areas in the interior may be a little past peak. Fall color is still coming along near the shore of Lake Superior. Look for early color and some peak color in those areas. Copper Peak Ski Jump and Adventure Ride near Ironwood is open 7 days a week and give the best overview of the fall color. Enjoy a chairlift ride and elevator ride and then a walk up the stairs to the top of the Copper Peak Ski Jump for a stunning vista of the brilliant color in the old-growth forest of the Western U.P.
Saturday and Sunday you can also enjoy a great view of the fall color and Lake Superior from the chairlift rides at the Porcupine Mountain Ski Area in the Porcupine Mountains State Park near Ontonagon. Enjoy early season color here along the shores of Lake Superior.
