FROM Bear Creek Organic Farm --> Peak Color Puddle-Jumping is an extreme sport with a very short season.
Luckily, we are able to spend all year training on various puddle sizes preparing for this moment.
If you look closely, you can see my sister, Frack, executing this jump with near-purrrfect form with her back left paw using a well-placed stone to provide stable footing and launchpad capabilities.
Calm composure is another sign of professionalism. She nails that. She doesn't even look concerned.
For those wondering, she managed to not get a single paw wet. 10/10.
And if you're the type of person whose sitting there thinking she could just walk around this puddle - you can take your negatively elsewhere.
Peak Color Puddle-Jumping is serious business. It's not called river jumping or stream jumping. Obviously you can walk around a puddle. But we prefer to challenge ourselves and pursue purrrfection.
If you need us, we'll be enjoying a warm sunbath today as we recover from a grueling week of puddle jumping, pothole surfing, and snowflake catching.
It's not easy being an autumn tri-cathlete up north, but we feel like we've purrformed well this season. Once the leaves fall off the trees, we'll set our sights on the winter games.

We've got a front row seat to the maple trees and lettuce leaves.
Two different shades of red and green leaves.
One has delicious leaves. The other...not so much.
One has delicious sap. The other...not so much.
Each have their benefits. But they don't usually go well together. Maple syrup on lettuce isn't particularly common. But lettuce on syrup, even less so.
We eat a lot of both in our house. Gallons of syrup and dozens of pounds of lettuce. Rarely at the same time.
We don't know when 'peak color' will be, but it looks like it's at least another week away. Peak salad is happening right now 🙂
Soak in the warm-ish weather today. Things will take a drastic turn tomorrow and Friday. Don't say we didn't warn ya!
