Western U.P. Fall Color Photos – 2021

Photos from the Fall Color Season of 2021

Fall Color Update – September 29, 2021

The Fall Color Show has begun in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Peak color has arrived along the interior routes in most of the Upper Peninsula. Fall color is generally further along in the Western part of the U.P. So if you see too much green for your taste in the Eastern U.P. drive to Marquette and west for more peak color.

This weekend – October 1 – 3, 2021 – should be a prime weekend for peak color in most of the U.P. Once again, fall color will likely be peak along the interior routes and coming along to near-peak along routes close to Lake Superior. If you have an extra weekend for fall color viewing, try next weekend – October 8 – 10, 2021 – when you should be able to catch some late peak color along Lake Superior.

It's time to fearlessly seek out the peak fall color in the Porcupine Mountains. Here's a recent view of the fall color at Lake of the Clouds via Michigan Scenery... #porcupinemountains #westernup #fallcolorphotos"October Dawn", Lake of the Clouds, Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, October 9, 2021. As my friends and I headed for the platform on this day, lightning was flashing overhead, lighting up the early morning darkness. A big storm seemed imminent. Wiser souls would have left! Astonishingly, the storm stayed offshore and allowed for a very colorful dawn. www.michiganscenery.com. #puremichigan #UPtravel ... See MoreSee Less

Fall Color Update via Doppler 9&10 Weather Team --> Updated: 10/7/2021 (Updated Weekly)
Peak Color is already here for some areas! This has been a very interesting year with strong pockets of red and orange in a sea of green the last few weeks. But last week’s chilly nights made notable changes for specific areas around Cadillac, Clare, and Grayling. While Cadillac may not be peaking right now, there are large areas within 10 miles of the downtown area that are. That is why we are showing those areas as Peak, as it will come sooner than later... #fallcolorreports #cadillacmichigan #benziecounty #traversecity #petoskey #gaylord #grayling #westernup #marquette #munising #newberry - www.9and10news.com/2021/09/16/fall-color-change-2021/?fbclid=IwAR0YonBAAJd_IlfbxiYVhHIev84q-9jPwd...
