Fall Color Update – October 27, 2023
The BIG FALL COLOR SHOW has moved past peak in the Western Upper Peninsula with lingering fall color now appearing near the Lake Superior shoreline in areas such as Porcupine Mountains State Park. Still a good weekend to enjoy the old-growth forests and waterfalls and grand vistas of the Western U.P.
The fall color is past peak in the Eastern U.P., though you can still find some lingering fall color and enjoy the beauty of the region.
The PEAK FALL COLOR is in its last stages in Northern Lower Michigan. The last of the peak color in Northern Lower Michigan should continue this weekend along the lakeshore routes for the weekend of October 27 – 29, 20223.

The skies are full of drama, the trees are putting on a show, and the weather looks a bit drier and warmer than last week. And we're loving it!
Our farm is in a stunningly beautiful part of the countryside and if we have one suggestion for visiting the farm this week, it's this:
Take a new route to get here!
Make a few extra turns to take a lap around Greenwood/Atkins. Check out Maplewood. Drive along River and Click and Cedar Valley. Any of these roads are putting on a show and we highly recommend it! We drove a full loop around these roads yesterday and it was well worth it!
This time of year, you can't go wrong!
While we'll be taking in this view as we tend the crops and bring in the harvest, we hope you'll have a chance to explore some unfamiliar roads in pursuit of autumnal beauty. You'll be so glad you did! #petoskey #fallcolorphotosLook at this view!

Here’s a general guide to peak color weekends for 2022 in Northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. (Based on historical observation. Subject to adjustments by Mother Nature.)
Upper Peninsula
September 15 – 17, 2023 – Early Season Color with some the possibility of early Peak-like color coming along in the interior of the Upper Peninsula
September 22 – 24, 2023 – Generally, an Early Peak Color Weekend in the Upper Peninsula along interior routes – some areas may be in peak-season form. Early season color for routes near the lake shore.
Sept. 29- Oct. 1, 2023 – Likely A Peak Color Weekend for interior routes. Early Season to Peak color along the lake shore routes of the Upper Peninsula
October 6 – 8, 2023 – Peak Color Weekend for lake shore routes with past peak conditions coming into play along interior routes.
October 13 – 15, 2023 – Past-Peak Color Weekend with some late-season color near the shoreline in the Upper Peninsula
Northern Lower Michigan
September 15 – 17, 2023 – Early Color Weekend with some isolated areas (Gaylord, and interior parts north) that may be showing signs of early peak color.
September 22 – 24, 2023 – Still an early Color Weekend with some early peak color in interior regions of Northern Lower Michigan
Sept. 29 – Oct. 1, 2023 – Early Color Weekend to with some possible Peak Color in interior regions of Northern Lower Michigan
October 6 – 8, 2023 – Peak Color in many areas in the interior. Some areas may be moving past peak.
October 13 – 15, 2023 – Peak Color Weekend in many regions closer to the lake shore – some interior regions in Northern Lower Michigan likely past peak.
October 20 – 22, 2023 – Likely Past Peak Color Weekend (look for the best of the remaining color near the lake shore) in Northern Lower Michigan
