October 24, 2025 Update:
It’s last call for PEAK FALL COLOR in the Traverse City area. Some areas along interior routes are a little past peak, however you should be able to find some great PEAK FALL COLOR along routes closer to Lake Michigan, such at M-22 in Benzie County and Leelanau County. Another great weekend for fall chairlift rides at Crystal Mountain. Also a great weekend to add wine tasting to your fall color tours in Leelanau County.

It’s Fall Color Friday and we are nearing the end of peak colors. We’re seeing some beautiful orange and red leaves, with a few trees still working on their seasonal switch. Now is the time to hop on a fall chairlift and take in the views! 🍁

The most beautiful rainbow arched over the slopes of Crystal Mountain this morning. We’ll take this as a sign for a great winter ahead! ❄️

We took a road trip around Benzie County and stopped at Crystal Mountain to check out the fall color. We found some great fall color with some areas getting close to peaking. There should be vivid, generally peak color this weekend for your color tour and conditions should start being past peak sometime next week.

The 2015 fall color season is a little behind this year in Northern Lower Michigan, however, we are now seeing pockets of vivid early color along the interior routes of Northern Lower Michigan. There should be good early season color along these routes this weekend and we’d expect the colors to peak along the interior routes next week and into next weekend – October 10 & 11, 2015.
