It’s last call to catch to 2020 Fall Color Show in Northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

Fall color in the interior routes of the Western U.P. is now past peak, however, there is still some color along routes closer to the shoreline of Lake Superior. Fall Chairlift Rides at the Porcupine Mountain Ski Area have ended for the season. However, the Adventure Ride at Copper Ski Jump is open through October 25, 2020.

The Copper Peak Ski Jump and Adventure Ride (Open Through October 25th.)

Fall color is also past peak along interior routes in the Central U.P. and the Eastern U.P. You should be able to catch the last of fall color this coming weekend along the routes near the Lake Superior shoreline.

In Northern Lower Michigan, you should be able to find peak color along the interior routes right now. Fall color will likely be getting a little past peak this weekend. This weekend will be a good time to catch the fall color along routes close to Lake Michigan. This would include the Tunnel of Trees north of Harbor Springs and the M-22 route in Benzie and Leelanau Counties.

Check back in the weeks to come for the latest updates on the progress fall color show in Northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

Fall Color

FROM Traverse City Tourism --> There's still time to enjoy peak color in northern Michigan! Our forests have reached 100% of their autumn glory, so this week is the time to hop in the car and savor the beauty of the season.

To catch the leaves before they fall, plan routes around the lakes and bays that help stretch the color out a little bit longer. Explore M-37 on Old Mission Peninsula, US-31 running north toward Elk Rapids, and M-22 on Leelanau Peninsula for beautiful views of trees and waterways.
