Fall Color Update - October 28, 2011
The fall color in the Upper Peninsula is past peak. Still a great time, however, to take some hikes through the woods and a great time to see the waterfalls of the Upper Peninsula before the snow flies.
The fall color in Northern Lower Michigan is also past peak, however there is still a lot of color lingering in the woods in many regions. Fall color routes near Lake Michigan will have the best late fall color. The colors will vary great with bare trees next to trees that are mostly green mixed in with the bright orange and golds and reds of peak season.
Some color should remain in the woods through the rest of the month and there are plenty of fall festivities and harvest activities. Check the calendar for the latest events.

September 24 - 25, 2011 - Early Color to Peak Weekend in the Upper Peninsula
October 1 - 2, 2011 - Peak Color Weekend with some past peak areas in the Upper Peninsula
October 8 - 9, 2011 - Some remaining Peak Color this Weekend, Mostly Past Peak Color in the Upper Peninsula
October 15 - 16, 2011 - Past Peak Color Weekend (but still some color) in the Upper Peninsula
Northern Lower Michigan
October 1 - 2, 2011 - Early Color Weekend with some isolated peak color in Northern Lower Michigan
October 8 - 9, 2011 - Early Color to Peak Color Weekend in Northern Lower Michigan
October 15 - 16, 2011 - Peak Color to Past Peak Color Weekend in Northern Lower Michigan
October 22 - 23, 2011 - Past Peak Color Weekend (possibly still close to peak with a lot of color especially near lakeshore) in Northern Lower Michigan
