Island House Hotel

Since 1852, guests at the historic Island House Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan have enjoyed the escape to a simpler time. After acquiring the resort in 1969, the Callewaert family has continued to add contemporary conveniences while preserving the allure of its historic ambiance, serving to maintain Mackinac Island’s oldest operating hotel, a Historic Hotels of America member, State of Michigan landmark, and the only hotel located within the boundaries of the pristine Mackinac Island State Park.

In addition to stunning waterfront views, historic appeal, and quaint rooms, guests choose the Island House Hotel for its convenient location. Far enough from the downtown hustle to enjoy the sounds of horseshoes on the street, watch freighters glide through the Straits of Mackinac, and feel the gentle breezes off the water, yet just a short walk to Mackinac Island’s most popular shopping, dining, attractions, activities, and night life.

Island House Hotel, Mackinac Island’s most historic hotel, offers gorgeous waterfront views, ideal location to downtown, and modern amenities with cozy old-world charm. Whether lunch in the garden, afternoons on the porch watching bikes, boats, and buggies roll, glide, and trot by, dinner in the elegant dining room, or evenings toasting s’mores in the chimneas on the lawn overlooking the harbor, Island House Hotel offers the complete Mackinac Island experience.

Features include: Stunning Waterfront Views, Ideal Location to Downtown, Heated Indoor Pool, Indoor & Outdoor Hot Tubs, Bicycle Rental, 1852 Grill Room, Ice House BBQ & Bar, 94 freshly decorated air-conditioned guest rooms, all with private bathrooms, Wi-Fi, USB Charging Ports, and Cable TV. Additional amenities include a 24-hour business center, a 24-hour front desk, and complimentary luggage transfer to/from the hotel and the Mackinac Island ferry docks.

I did and I loved it !! And stayed at the island house !!what a great place !!

Perfect! I need to try it some time

I used to stay every year at the Island House back in the late 70s and early 80s Remember walking back after viewing Star Trek Wrath Of Khan which had played that night at the old college theater

I have had to many trips solo. Now..., well....

The island is so beautiful!

Been inside that smaller lighthouse just right of larger lighthouse back in the late 60’s. Kinda rocky to dock but we got on shore!

Stayed solo five or six years ago at The Island House. Enjoyed my time on the island. 🥰

I've sat in that same spot. 💜

6 inches of snow Oz

What’s it like this time of year?

I had to give up my fall solo trip. It’s killing me. I want to be on the island so bad.
