Crystal Mountain

We cleaned out the closet at Crystal Spa and found some supplies to donate to keep our community safe and healthy. Our friends at Benzie Bus collected and delivered it to Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in Frankfort, Mich.

19 boxes of gloves (100 count box)
3 gallons of citrus II hospital grade cleaner
2 jugs of hand sanitizers
2 disinfectant spray cleaners
1 container of Clorox wipes

Every little bit helps. We’re all in this together.

Stay home. Stay safe.

MARCH 21 UPDATE

A message from our COO, John Melcher:

The past several weeks have presented all of us with concerns never before seen. In this environment, staying connected with information is more important than ever.

After careful consideration and out of abundance of caution and safety for our staff and our guests, we will be closing our resort operations, including all lodging, on Sunday.

While we cannot underestimate the extreme fluidity of our situation, our goal is to resume normal operations of the resort on Monday, April 13.

We don’t know when the coronavirus will be contained and normalcy restored. But when that times comes, please be assured we will be here for you and our community.

We continue to share the same belief as many of you – that spending time outdoors and enjoying nature is important to leading a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. And that is why Michigan Legacy Art Park remains open for exploring. (Please keep social distancing and all COVID-19 safety practices in mind while enjoying the outdoors, as recommended by the CDC.)

We are also working on preparing our golf courses for this summer. We will let you know when we are ready!

I have great confidence in our team here at Crystal Mountain. We’ve weathered storms in the past and we'll get through this one, too. We’re all in this together.

Be safe and be well.

Sincerely,
John Melcher

We are so sad to miss our spring break tradition of heading north to ski. We will be back next year for sure (and we might even plan a summer trip too.)

We will be ready to visit when you open! Thank you for being a responsible and sensitive corporate citizen.👍🍀

Thanks, John. Emma and I will look forward to returning once you're back up and running. Thanks for a great season.

Thank you for making the hard decision for the safety of all.

The slopes look beautiful and yet lonely untouched. We will miss coming to ski in a few weeks as we'd planned. But we understand. See you next year. Love Crystal Mountain.

Will be back next winter for skiing!

Thank You Crystal Mountain!

Is this cause you had a guest that was positive for it???

Well said Sir

MARCH 15, 2020: UPDATE ON CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN OPERATIONS

After careful consideration of the quickly changing circumstances around COVID-19, Crystal Mountain will close all ski and snowboard operations for the 2019-2020 season effective at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 16.

Our top priority has been the health and well-being of our guests, team members and our community.

In addition to ski operations, retail shops, PEAK Fitness Center and Crystal Spa will cease operations at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. We plan to resume normal operations on Monday, April 6.

All lodging properties will remain open. Restaurants and Mountain Market will remain open based on situational needs and with a commitment to social distancing. Some outdoor recreation activities will be available. Hours of operation will be posted in "This Week at Crystal."

We sincerely apologize to all guests currently at Crystal Mountain or those planning to come for a ski trip or vacation. Given the short notice, we have relaxed our cancellation and refund policy. Guests with arrivals between now and April 5 are welcome to cancel without penalty.

If you have a lodging reservation, please know that a representative will be in touch soon. We anticipate higher than normal call volume and apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

As I totally understand, but just curious as we were gonna use our last pass March 28th...will this be able to be extended into next year?

I made plans based on your most recent posting, this one and made the drive up to grab the last two hours of skiing with two kids. We arrived at 2:15 to be turned away and denied. Was told could not honor pass for today, that you closed at 2. I expected restaurant to close at 3 due to governors order. Very disappointed. If you were closing at 2 then that should have been posted. Not 4:30. I understand the 3pm fit restaurant per governor. But not slopes at 2. Will you be honoring those with passes that got turned away today? Perhaps a chat with staff and marketing is in order.,

I have two passes I was going to use next week. Can I get them extended to next year?

Was just there yesterday, as a nurse I really felt this was a great option for families right now. Your hands and face are covered, your not in very close proximity to anyone. We avoid eating inside by packing a lunch. I understand this was most likely a tough choice on your part, just sad to see.

Thanks for giving us some notice! Our kids have had a great time! One more day tomorrow 👍

We have season passes (live in Chicago) and this will greatly impact our value of the season passes. While I completely understand the closure of the facilities, will there be a discount on season passes for next year for current season pass holders since we were unable to basically use the last month of our passes??

Thank you for keeping open today!! We just enjoyed a great time and our kids got some pe time that they will be missing while school is out

While this decision was surely difficult, it is 100% the right one. Thank you for keeping the community safe. ❤️

You were my last hope and now you’re also closing cause a few people have caught a cold?

I can't imagine that was an easy decision to come to. I feel bad for all the families vacations that are now ruined, but even worse for all of the families that depend on their income working there to survive.

Bummer....It was nice to finish the season on a fun blue bird day!

Thank you for another awesome snow season!

We had so much fun at the spa yesterday and I am glad we got in before you closed.

Totally understand but seriously bummed 😫😫

Have a great summer.

Is nick still working
